The residents of New Hamar have a need for steel and other materials and while their convoys are quite capable of carrying things out, their convoy and their own drivers are less expendable than the bounty they currently hold.

Distributy had their fingers in all sorts of pies before The Crash. One of the more interesting of those pies was advanced robotic AI and market prediction AI.  Months before the roll-out of Distributy’s “next big thing” the crash happened. Toss Up has a buyer, all he needs is the AI and a whole lot of luck.
